On Sunday, I had to go to the hospital by ambulance. I didn't have anyone to drive me home and was at my wits end. I had a few dollars on me, but was not sure if it was enough to get a cab. I took my chances and walked over to a cab parked to the side of the hospital. I explained my situation and this beautiful angel said that was no problem and get in and he would drive me home.

On the drive home, his kindness and gentleness shone through every fibre of his being. This may sound saccharin, but maybe we become so jaded, we can only see what we think we see when someone is of another culture or colour.

There are good people out there. I found out by simply asking a Checker cab driver for a ride home.

The experience in purchasing the vouchers was AMAZING! Sharon was incredibly helpful, responded to requests immediately, and was very easy to get a hold of.

As far as the experience went with the taxis, I'm sure everything was great. We didn't have as many takers on the chits as we thought because the event didn't turn into the 'late night' we were projecting it would be.

Long story short, we will definitely be using your services again.

“ The function was at Spruce Meadows (and has been over a decade) for over 200 people. This was the most successful year in regards to getting taxis to come out to this location, and in a timely manner. A sincere thank you to everyone at Checker. My only worry for a big function like this is to make sure everyone gets home safe that evening. I'm not sure exactly how many taxis we used yet that night, but I needed about 15 cars between 12:00-1:00am, and it was beautiful how they all showed up one after the other. It flowed wonderful. It really was the smoothest year EVER!

“ I just wanted to let your company know that your drivers are very special to us - my daughter fell at the Brentwood LRT yesterday morning and was on crutches. She was in a lot of pain and was having trouble getting off the bus on her way home. One of your drivers saw her and her sister were walking away from the bus when your driver asked if they were ok, he saw that she was having trouble walking on the crutches and asked her where she lived. Even though it was just down the street, he knew that there was so much ice on the side roads so he gave both my daughters a ride to my home with NO CHARGE. I want you & your company to know that I have always used Associated cabs in the N.W but because of your drivers big heart and caring I will always use Checker Yellow cabs. I want to thank this man with all my heart for his kind actions and I hope that you do commend him - his name is MANVIR and his number is 703. Please tell this man that I am so very impressed with his behavior and wish that the Calgary transit would learn from this man. Thank You so Much Manvir, you are a great man. ”
